A Thought Leadership Report on Purpose-Driven Innovation

If sustainability is the destination, then designers will need a tool to help get us there. This report - titled Many Routes One Destination - presents the different ways that designers can , and should build a sustainable future. It presents our thinking at the time at Seymourpowell.

Sustainable Innovation workshop at SB London '15

We ran a 3-hour session, whilst at Seymourpowell, during the Sustainable Brands London event to expose participants to our Sustainable Innovation process via a series of real-team, live design exercises. Participants were challenged, and enabled, to step into the future and dragging the present towards them, learning how to apply that mode of thinking to product, service and business model innovation.

RETHINKING XMAS FOOD WASTE

A New Concept to Design-Out Festive Food Waste

At Seymourpowell we created a digital concept to design-out wasted food at Christmas. As much as 25% of the food purchased during the festive period ends up as waste and our app helps buy, prepare and reuse the big meal without the hassle and guilt of food waste.

This project examined how UK creative businesses can innovate on issues such as energy, climate change and social equity, as well as become more sustainable themselves. We created a series of future scenarios and a toolkit to get creative on sustainability. I led this project as Head of Innovation at Forum for the Future.

Sustainable Brands Thought Leadership Publication

This brochure summarised our thinking and point-of-view on brands and sustainability - encapsulated in the terms 'Sustainability Inside'.  I co-authored and co-creatively directed this this document whilst Head of Sustainability at Dragon Rouge.

A Scoping Study for the UK The Design Council proposed to DEFRA and DTI

Commissioned and written for the UK Design Council, whilst at Forum for the Future, Chris Sherwin was co-author of this study that made policy recommendations to the UK Government for a practice-focussed Design and Sustainability Forum.
